Mission of the Department

Our mission is to ensure that the students of Pelham Elementary School are given the resources to deal with psychological and emotional issues effectively so that they are able to better concentrate on their school work and maximize their learning potential.

COUNSELORS: Mrs. Lisa Laroche Oliver & Mrs. Traci Flaherty

Both Mrs. Oliver and Mrs. Flaherty meet with students individually and in small groups to address individual student needs. Topics may include self-esteem, peer interactions, and family changes, just to name a few. 


Mrs. Lisa Laroche Oliver

Mrs. Oliver received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of New  Hampshire and her M.Ed. in Counseling from Plymouth State College.  She has been a School Counselor since 1990.  She is a member of the New Hampshire School Counselor Association.  She likes to go shopping for bargains and out to eat on the weekends.  She enjoys helping out animal rescue causes and spending time with her rescue dog, Mickey.

Mrs. Oliver does classroom activities with students in grades 1 & 3 and coordinates all of the 504 Plans in the building.


Mrs. Traci Flaherty

Mrs. Flaherty received her B.A. in Psychology from State University of New York in Potsdam, New York.  She received her M.S. in Counselor Education from Alfred University. She also holds an Advanced Certification in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialty in Conflict Resolution and  Peaceable Schools from Lesley University. She lives in Hudson with her husband, Steve, their son Aidan and daughter Keira.

Mrs. Flaherty works with the Heath teacher in providing activities and information to the students in grades 4 and coordinates all Special Education Plans involving counseling in the building.
